Apple Opens Pre-Orders for Foldable Smartphone iPhone Duo Ahead of Expected January Delivery

Key summary

Apple has begun accepting pre-orders for its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, starting yesterday, October 16. According to Apple's official website status as of that time, customers who place an order now can expect to receive their device around January 22 of the following year. This delivery timeline suggests that demand may have exceeded Apple's initial expectations. The company stated in a press release that the demand for the iPhone Duo is incredibly high and confirmed it is taking all necessary steps to expedite product delivery to customers as quickly as possible. Prior reports indicated that the initial launch batch would be limited, with wait times potentially ranging from one to three months. While Apple did not confirm whether walk-in purchases will be available at Apple Store locations on October 23, speculation remains high that long lines could form if such an option is offered.
