Rumors Suggest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 6060 May Not Launch Until 2029

Key summary

Unverified reports from hardware leaker Kepler_L2 on the NeoGAF forum suggest that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 6060 graphics card could be delayed until 2029, nearly four years after the release of the RTX 5060. This potential delay contradicts NVIDIA's typical two-year product cycle for mid-range cards. The speculation attributes the possible postponement to a global shortage of chips and memory components driven by high demand from AI server and data center manufacturers. Consequently, production capacity is being diverted away from gaming GPUs toward these enterprise markets. Previous rumors indicated that the entire GeForce RTX 60 Series might launch in 2028 instead of late 2027, which would mean flagship models like the RTX 6090 or RTX 6080 could appear before the mid-range RTX 6060. Historically, xx60 series cards have launched approximately every two years: the RTX 2060 in 2019, RTX 3060 in 2021, RTX 4060 in 2023, and RTX 5060 in 2025. If the 2029 launch date is accurate, the gap between the RTX 5060 and RTX 6060 would be almost double the standard cycle. Additionally, Kepler_L2 speculated that the RTX 6060 might have gaming performance lower than Sony's PlayStation 6, though this comparison remains unverified as neither product has released official specifications or benchmark results. NVIDIA has not officially confirmed these delays, and the information remains in the realm of speculation.
