Coach Yowg Wrawut Sri-Maha Praises PMYC for Expanding Access to High-Level Football

Key summary

Wrawut Sri-Maha, known as 'Coach Yowg', stated that the Prime Minister's Youth CUP provides a crucial opportunity for children across all regions of Thailand, particularly those in rural areas who previously faced limited access to professional football. He noted that while aspiring players used to have to leave their hometowns and move to Bangkok to pursue careers, this tournament allows scouts from various locations to identify talent during the competition. The event features selection rounds at the district, provincial, regional, and national levels for U14, U16, and U18 boys' categories. Registration is open until October 31, 2026 (2569). Sri-Maha emphasized that while the tournament offers a legitimate competitive standard distinct from exhibition matches, he hopes future editions will include an appropriate number of games to ensure proper player development.
