Suan Rorai Restaurant Owner Addresses Drama Over Sports Influencer's Booth Incident

Key summary

The owner of a restaurant at Suan Worachibenjathat (Suan Rorai) has clarified the controversy surrounding a 'runner rest stop' setup with sports influencer Golf Kanyanlin. The owner stated that initial contact occurred on July 6, where Golf and her partner Oat requested to rent space for a coffee booth and runner community. The restaurant declined the rental request but expressed willingness to host a non-commercial runner community; however, no clear details or utility usage permissions were agreed upon. On October 16 at 15:00, Golf arrived with an empty tent. By the morning of October 17, her team had set up ice tanks and menu boards, began selling coffee, and used the restaurant's water and electricity. The staff reported that the setup did not match the agreed distribution plan. The owner contacted Golf to stop sales, but she claimed she could not due to high customer numbers. A heated exchange followed, during which the owner admitted to speaking harshly, stating, 'Don't see them running around here; I will scold them heavily.' Police from Bang Sue Station arrived, and negotiations took place at a table in front of the restaurant with only Golf's staff present, as Golf and Oat had already packed up. Oat later returned. The owner showed CCTV footage to media outlets to refute claims of detention or restraint, showing the parties sitting and talking. The owner confirmed no prior two-month planning discussions occurred beyond LINE messages regarding location permission. Following the viral video, the restaurant suffered negative reviews. The owner emphasized that allowing another vendor to set up a booth directly in front is not feasible for their business model. They are awaiting feedback on whether the matter will resolve or if legal action will be pursued.
